2025年８月から、臼杵高校で勤務するALTのエマ先生です。

イギリス出身です。日本について興味があり、勉強を続けているそうです。

今回から、定期的にメッセージをいただきます。エマ先生が考えたこと、日本のこと、母国イギリスの文化の紹介など、さまざまな話題を提供していただきます。

Do not afraid of making mistakes! Enjoy!!

The story of how I came to Usuki.

In the UK, I studied a lot about Japanese culture and history at university, so I became very interested in Japan. I was able to study abroad in 2022 at Kyushu University. I had so much fun! I loved living in Fukuoka Prefecture, and I travelled to lots of different places in Japan.
It was a really great experience, so after I graduated from university in 2024, I decided to come back to Japan! I was interested in teaching and wanted to become an ALT, so I was very happy when I heard that I would be working at Usuki High School. When I lived in Fukuoka, I never visited Oita, but I heard that it was a great place. When I arrived in Usuki, I realized it was true – Oita is great! There is a lot of beautiful nature to see, interesting historical sites to visit, and delicious food to try. Plus, everyone is friendly and kind. I am excited to explore more places in Oita and enjoy my new life in Usuki!
