カーター先生の離任式を行いました。

7月18日(金)、ALTのCarter Lindquist先生の離任式が行われました。
カーター先生は、フロリダ州タンパの出身で、2023年1月から2年半に渡り、鶴工の英語教育に尽力して下さいました。ピカチュウのコスチュームを着てレッスンをしたり、鶴崎踊りに参加したり、文化祭のステージで美声を披露したりと、何事にも積極的にチャレンジしてくれました。離任式では、生徒たちにメッセージを送ってくれましたので、以下に紹介します。
カーター先生のメッセージを胸に、みんな夢に向かって頑張ります。いつまでも、お元気で、活躍を祈念しています。チーム鶴工一同

カーター先生のメッセージ原文

Hello students and staff of Tsurusaki Technical High School.
Today is may last day here at Tsuruko, and I have something I want to say.
Since I was a high school student, I have wanted to come to this country; it was my dream.
After high school started working towards that goal, and as a university student I got my first chance when I studies abroad.
Sadly that visit was short due to the coronavirus, and I had to leave early.
However, I did not stop there. I studied in school, and I continued to work towards truly accomplishing my dream.
So I stand here today having accomplished my dream.
With hard work and a little bit of luck, I was able to come live and work here for over 2 years!
Since January 2023 I’ve been working at this school twice a week, and this opportunity has been the greatest pleasure I have known in my life.
I will cherish my time living and working in Japan for the rest of my days.
Students, I know that you can work to achieve your dreams too.
I’m very grateful that I was able to come to your English classes and speak with you all.
Thank you all for the last two and a half years.

私は、日本に来ることが高校生からの夢でした。
高校卒業後、その目標に向かって努力を始め、大学生の時に最初のチャンスが来ましたが、コロナウィルスのせいで、そのチャンスはすぐに終わってしまいました。しかし、そこで諦めることなく、学校で勉強して、働いて実現しました。
２年半、この学校で働いたことが、私の人生で最大の喜びです。この経験を大切にします。皆さん、努力すれば夢を実現できると私は信じています。２年半、ありがとうございました。
