The wedding was in a beautiful church, and I was so happy to see my brother get married! Ireland is famous for rainy weather, but we were so lucky that the wedding day had perfect sunny weather! After the wedding, we walked out of the church and on the street. A man playing the bagpipes walked in front of us! It was so beautiful. I was especially happy because many of my family members traveled from America to Ireland for the ceremony! My 89 year old grandmother also visited, and my brother walked her down the aisle as you can see in the picture!

In American wedding culture, the groom (新郎) chooses one man to be the “best man” (新郎の付添人). He chose me! Because of this, I had to give an important speech at the wedding reception in front of 102 people. I was very nervous, but many people including my brother said I did a good job! I was very happy to hear that. The bride (新婦) chooses one girl to be her “maid of honor” (新婦の付添人). She chose her sister, and you can see me walking with her in the picture in the church!

As a wedding present, I gave my brother and his wife a Japanese chef’s knife from Kappabashi, Tokyo. He loved it! After the wedding, I returned to Japan and my brother and his wife went to Greece for their honeymoon. I am so excited to have a new family member!
