Fourth of July
In America, July 4 is called “Independence Day.” The holiday celebrates the signing of the Declaration of Independence (アメリカ独立宣言) in the year 1776.Before that, America was controlled by England. America is still a young country. It did not exist until the second half of the Edo Period! On the Fourth of July,Americans do things such as barbecuing, grilling hot dogs and hamburgers, eating watermelon, going to parties, watching parades, and, of course, watching fireworks! At night on the Fourth of July, we can hear fireworks throughout the whole country! I love them, but my dog does not. She gets scared of the explosions. Because large fireworks can be dangerous, I usually use sparklers (線香花火) with my friends instead. It is a very fun day to celebrate American culture. I hope you can experience it someday!
