Christmas in America
For most Americans, Christmas is by far the most important holiday of the year. There are so many Christmas traditions that I can’t write all of them, but I want to share a little bit about American Christmas! Most Americans start preparing in November by putting lights on their houses, shopping, decorating a Christmas tree, and listening to Christmas music. Each family celebrates Christmas a little bit differently, but my family goes to church on Christmas Eve and then eats dinner at a nice restaurant. After dinner, we sometimes drive around town to look at the beautiful Christmas lights. On Christmas morning, my brother, sister and I all walk from our bedrooms to the Christmas tree at the same time to see all of the presents under the tree. We all take turns opening presents while listening to Christmas music. It is always so fun to see the reactions! We also find candy in our stockings by the fireplace. Later in the day, we have a family party and dinner where we open even more presents! It is always a relaxing and special day that I love to spend with my family. Even though I will not spend Christmas with my family this year, I am looking forward to doing it again in the future!
