Valentine’s Day in America
Happy Valentine’s Day! Just like in Japan, Valentine’s Day in America is about love. However, there are some big differences between how American people and Japanese people celebrate the holiday. The biggest difference is that in America, both boys and girls give gifts on February 14 instead of just the girls! Because of that, you might wonder what happens on White Day in America. Well, there is no White Day in America! Valentine’s Day is of course a very important day for couples. Not only couples celebrate the holiday, but families and friends give gifts to each other too! It is also very common to write a note to tell your boyfriend, girlfriend, family members, or friends how much you love them. When I was a kid, we usually wrote notes and shared heart-shaped candy at school. For dinner, my parents usually ordered a delicious heart-shaped pizza! I think Valentine’s Day is a great chance to let the important people in your life know how much you care about them. I hope you had a great Valentine’s Day!
