My First Korea Trip
I recently traveled to South Korea for the first time in my life! I was very happy to see that I could fly directly from Oita Airport to Incheon International Airport (Seoul)! I took a crowded train from Incheon to Seoul. After I left the station, I was so impressed! I noticed that so many people were sitting outside and enjoying dinner, and the atmosphere was so lively. I also sat outside and enjoyed samgyeopsal (サムギョプサル) as my first Korean food. It was so delicious! I of course ate kimchi as well. I love spicy food!
The only Korean words I know are “hello” and “thank you,” so it was sometimes difficult to communicate! However, people were very kind and some of them spoke English with me. The next day, I went to Gyeongbokgung Palace (景福宮) and wore a Hanbok which is a type of traditional Korean clothing. It was so cool! Later, we went to a food market and ate some “mandu” dumplings. Later, we ate some Korean barbecue (yakiniku) on a rooftop. We also saw the sunset along the Han River!
Overall, I really enjoyed South Korea. I really liked how so many people eat outside in Korea! Even convenience stores have tables outside. If I go to South Korea again, I want to study more Korean words before I go!
