本校勤務のブレンダン先生から、メッセージをいただきました。高高生の英語力の向上のため、定期的にさまざまなテーマでお話をしてもらいます。

今回は、今年の夏、お兄さんの結婚式をアイルランドで挙げたという内容です。おめでとうございます！　写真、とっても素敵です！

Irish Wedding

　　This summer, I traveled to Ireland for my older brother’s wedding! I think Irish and American wedding cultures are quite different from Japan’s, so I want to　share my experiences!

　　My travel time to Ireland was very long! I flew first to Tokyo, then I flew to London, England! After that, I flew from London to Dublin, the capital city of Ireland. Finally, I got in a car and rode from Dublin to a small town called Kinvara about two and a half hours away! After about 30 hours of travel, I finally met with my family. We explored the countryside in Ireland and it is very different from Japan’s! There are many old churches, castles, and stone walls. Also, there are cows, sheep, and horses absolutely everywhere! We saw Ireland’s most famous tourist destination, the beautiful “Cliffs of Moher.” I was so surprised by the temperature. Even though it was August, it was sometimes about 8°C at night!

　　Finally, we drove to a very small town called Clonegal for the wedding. We stayed at an old castle at night, and it was so cool! There are rumors that there are ghosts at the castle, so some people were a little bit scared. The night before the wedding, we listened to an Irish band and I sang Irish songs with my brother and father.
